“Gay in Nigeria, Black Male in America,” an opinion piece by Chibuihe Obi Achimba MFA ’22, was published in The New York Times on Saturday, Nov. 7. Chibuihe, who is studying poetry in the Literary Arts graduate program, was a 2019 – 2020 Scholar-at-Risk at Harvard University before matriculating at Brown.

In April 2011, Forrest Gander was one of two poets to receive the Witter Bynner Award at a ceremony which took place at the Library of Congress. The Witter Bynner fellowships are used to support the writing of poetry.
