Writers Online

Nicholas Mosley is the distinguished author of seventeen novels, including Accident, Impossible Object, The Hesperides Tree and the “Catastrophe Practice” series, Catastrophe Practice, Imago Bird, Serpent, Judith, and Hopeful Monsters. Born in London in 1923, he is regarded as one of the most innovative English novelists to emerge since World War II. His work is noted for its pared-down prose style and elliptical structures. Mosley, said Adrian Mitchell writing in The New Statesman, “uses sentences like stepping stones: the gaps between them may seem incredibly wide at first glance, but you can always get to the other side.”
