Mary-Beth Hughes is a novelist and short-story writer. Her novels are Wavemaker II and The Loved Ones. Her stories have appeared in A Public SpaceThe Paris Review and other journals, and are collected in Double Happiness, anthologized in The Pushcart Prize XXXV and The Paris Review: Object Lessons: The Art of the Short Story. Hughes has been a Director’s Guest at Civitella Ranieri, a fellow at The MacDowell Colony, and a Member and Director of The Corporation of Yaddo. She has taught in the Writing Seminars at Bennington College and in the writing program at The Pratt Institute.
