John Kinsella

A native of Perth, West Australia, poet John Kinsella is the prolific author of more than twenty books, including, among others, Night ParrotsEschatologiesFull Fathom FiveThe Silo – A Pastoral SymphonyLightning TreeKangaroo VirusThe HuntThe Hierarchy of Sheep, and Peripheral Light: Selected and New Poems.  His work uses contemporary verse, vivid realism and personal commentary to reflect his love for and knowledge of the land and cultural diversity of West Australia.  Editor of the international literary journal Salt and International Editor of The Kenyon Review, Kinsella has received many prizes for his writing, including the Grace Leven Poetry Prize, the John Bray Award, and the Western Australian Premier’s Prize for Poetry.  He is Richard L. Thomas Professor of Creative Writing at Kenyon College, a Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge University, and Adjunct Professor at Edith Cowan University in West Australia.
