Joan Retallack is the author of seven books of poetry and two critical volumes, including, most recently, Memnoir (2004) and The Poethical Wager (2003). Her other works include How To Do Things With Words and Afterrimages. Retallack received a Lannan Foundation Literary Grant in 1998 – 99, the 1996 America Award in Belles Lettres for MUSICAGE: John Cage in Conversation with Joan Retallack, and the Columbia award for Errata 5uite. She is John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Professor of Humanities at Bard College.
